A few days ago I posted about my Only Curls London delivery. I fell in love with how feminine the entire package was. I was a couple days away from my wash day so I impatiently waited it out. Thankfully, my wash day just happened to fall on Labor Day Weekend! I had plenty of time to try out the products.
Here’s a little info about the company…Only Curls is located in, you guessed it, London! Their goal is to provide curly hair products that have natural, nourishing ingredients to hydrate your hair. Every product is curly girl friendly, contains no sulfates, parabens, mineral oil or paraffin.
The first action I take when testing a styling product is to smell it. If I don’t like the scent, it doesn’t touch my hair. Upon opening the Only Curls London creme and gel, I was met with a sweet aroma. It’s not overpowering and fades with time.
I began my curly girl wash day routine by:
- Co-washing for 5-10 minutes with Camille Rose Naturals Coconut Naturals Leave-In Detangling Hair Treatment. I completely rinsed out the product.
- Deep conditioning with Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque for 10 to 15 minutes and completely rinsing out.
- Applying Camille Rose Naturals Coconut Naturals Leave-In Detangling Hair Treatment as a leave-in conditioner.
- Applying Only Curls Curl Hydrating Creme and the Enhancing Curl Gel.
- Diffusing my hair until completely dry.
My initial thoughts on the styling creme and gel were that they were both lightweight. I have dry, frizzy 2c 3a curls and normally use heavier curl styling products. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Here’s my Only Curls London hair results:
After diffusing, my hair was soft. I didn’t have any crunch to scrunch. As you can see from my photos, I have frizz around the crown of my head and face. A few hours after styling, I spent time outside shopping at the outlets. With the heat and humidity, my curls began to droop and frizz. My hair was in a pineapple by 5:00 PM.
only curls refresh day results
I refreshed my curls for 5 days following wash day. Each day my hair became more dry and frizzy. I’m hoping I will have more positive results by leaving more of my deep conditioner and adding more product on wash day. I’ll let you know! If you have any tips to add, I’d love to hear about it.
