It may not feel like it here in Huntersville, North Carolina, but we are starting to see signs of the approach of the fall season. The leaves are changing color and there are enough on the ground to hear them crunch under your feet. However, the weatherman is calling for 90 degree temps this weekend! I don’t think I will ever get used to the changing colors of the trees coupled with high southern temperatures.
Our road trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains had me craving these juicy, decadent pears. I had made them a few weeks ago and couldn’t get over how easy they were to make and how amazingly beautiful they were! The key to this recipe is waiting until the pears are perfectly ripe. You will know they are ripe when their color changes from green to yellow.
This Baked Walnut Pear recipe is great for the fall. Any dessert served warm with cinnamon sprinkled on top makes me want to curl up with a blanket by the fire. Whether it’s summer time or winter where you are, give these pears a try! They are gluten free, dairy free and vegan. You really can’t go wrong!
Walnuts, cinnamon spice, honey and warm pears make for a perfect fall treat! Serve with your choice of dairy free yogurt, cashew, coconut or almond ice cream.
