Some of my favorite memories during my childhood included my loving grandparents. They lived about ten minutes from my parent’s house and were actively involved in my life. Gram would take me on day trips to the local arcade and out for lunch at Pizza Hut (I didn’t know I had Celiac Disease at the time.). One important skill my grandmother taught me was to bake.
My gramps has a sweet tooth and gram liked to have cookies, bars and cakes stocked for his snack breaks. One dessert she brought to our family gatherings was her famous chocolate chip peanut butter bars. Every time I make this Chocolate Almond Protein Bar recipe, I am reminded of my gram.
