While it may not feel like summer (or spring for that matter) in New England, June is right around the corner. We are officially one month away from Father’s Day and I’m gathering gift ideas for my dad, the ultimate outdoorsman.

Since most of us are currently in quarantine, shopping on Amazon makes it easy. I have compiled a list of 10 Father’s Day Gifts for the Outdoorsman all currently under $60 each. (Disclosure: Some of the product links in this post are affiliate links. This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive a small affiliate commission. This helps keep my blog running!)

Before you check out my list, I will give you a brief summary of my dad’s interests. If your dad sounds anything like mine, he will be sure to enjoy any of these items.

What makes an outdoorsy dad

My dad loves to be outdoors and active. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, snow-shoeing, photography and lounging in his hammock. As nicer weather has started to arrive in New Hampshire, my dad is fully engaged in a majority of these hobbies.

10 father’s day gift ideas for the outdoorsman

1.  Perception Splash Seat Back Cooler – for Kayaks

I can tell you right now, my dad would love this seat back cooler. It fits over the back of your kayak chair and keeps your drinks and food cold.

Right now, my dad’s kayak has a cup holder in front of his chair that sits between his legs. I tried it out last weekend and my drink was constantly in the way. I can see my dad, thirsty from exercise, easily reaching behind him to get a cold, refreshing drink.

2.  NRS Super Stretch Neoprene Cockpit Cover – for kayaks

If your father has a kayak, more than likely it is stored outside. This means, spiders, pollen, rain and tree debris collect inside the cockpit. With this kayak cockpit cover, your dad can hit the lake without taking time to clean off his seat. This cover will fit most average sized kayaks so no need to measure!

3.  Tree Swing Hanging Straps Kit – for hammocks

Ever since I picked up a hammock from Key West, my dad and I have something in common. He recently pulled his out of storage and was looking for ways to hang it. This tree swing hanging strap makes it easy. In under five minutes, without any drilling, his hammock can be ready for enjoyment!

4. Waterproof Floating Dry Bag

This particular kit comes with two waterproof, floating bags. Now my dad can take his camera, wallet, phone and keys with him on the kayak or sailboat without worrying about them falling overboard into the lake or getting rained on. I am excited to see the sunsets on the lake he’ll be able to capture now that his DSLR camera can accompany him!

5. Clear iPhone XR Case Waterproof

This highly rated waterproof iPhone case has been tested to submerse up to 6.6 feet of water for an hour. Right now, my dad uses one of those plastic, waterproof bags that go around your neck. This cell phone case would make it easier for taking photos or capturing videos without removing the phone from the bag.

6. BioLite HeadLamp 330 Lumen

I know for a fact my dad wants a high quality headlamp. He mentioned it on Mother’s Day and I made a mental note of it. He uses one in the winter when he goes snowshoeing at night. Plus, he is an early riser and it helps to have one of these handy.

7. YETI Rambler 20 oz Tumbler

What father doesn’t need something from YETI? This stainless steel, vacuum insulated tumbler is perfect for days on the lake. He could use it kayaking, sailing or sitting on the beach.

8. ALEADER Men’s Quick Drying Aqua Water Shoes

I have written about these water shoes in a few of my blog posts from our Sandals Resort vacations. They work great walking to and from the pool, swimming in the lake or ocean or kayaking and sailing. We wore our water shoes last weekend when we kayaked and they were much better than going barefoot.

9. Sun Hat for Men

Since my father has spent so much time in the sun during his life, his skin is sensitive to the sun. Wearing a hat while outdoors is a must. This highly rated sun hat for men comes in multiple colors and is lightweight and easily packable!

10. Columbia Men’s Silver Ridge Convertible Pant

Even though these convertible pants remind me of Michael Scott: Survivor Man, they are perfect for my outdoorsy father. They are made of UPF 50 fabric for sun protection and have Omni-Wick technology to keep him dry.

And that’s the extent of my Father’s Day Gift Ideas for 2020. Now to decide which one he would like to use first!
